Gathercare Turns 8: Celebrate the Past, Care for the Future

On March 19th, 2025 - Gathercare celebrated 8th years of milestone at the Connexion Conference & Event Centre in Nexus, Bangsar. It wasn’t just a party; it was a celebration on how far we have come thru and seeing our future together. Filled with more than 70 guests, including team members, partners, and carers who have played a big part in Gathercare’s journey.

Reflecting on the Past, Shaping the Future

The event began with a speech from Gathercare’s founder and CEO, Mr Gideon Leong. He shared the story of how Gathercare was rebranded in the year 2020 to become more than just a medical platform. It became a caring community. A place where people support one another in times of medical needs, without waiting for a crisis.

Furthermore, Mr Gideon spoke about the exciting plans that Gathercare holds for the future. To grow into an affordable and complete medical system. The vision is simple but powerful: to break the idea that “health equals money”, and to make medical treatments accessible for everyone. One that helps people take care of their health early, without worrying about high medical costs.

One of the most exciting moments of the day was the official signing of a partnership agreement between Gathercare and Basel Medical Group Singapore.

Mr. Raymond Cheung, Group CEO of Basel Medical, spoke about their shared vision with Gathercare, which is to build a better healthcare system across Malaysia, Singapore and Southeast Asia. He explained that healthcare isn’t just about treating illness, it’s about helping people live healthier lives through strong communities, better tools, and shared responsibility.

By working together, Gathercare and Basel aim to close the gaps in medical care, improve access, and give people more control over their health.

This partnership is more than just words. Basel Medical Group, which was recently listed on NASDAQ, will become a lead investor in Gathercare. Together, the two companies plan to expand their venture into Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The plan is to ensure that Gathercare’s trusted services are available in more places without losing its quality.
