This is the major differentiation between Crowd Sharing based Medical Protection and conventional insurance/takaful/medical card. There's no premium in Gathercare, but we set a fund pool from which the money is used to pay for members' (Carers') medical bills.
On every 24th of the month, a Crowd Share round will be held where the total amount of medical bills will be accumulated and spread among our Carers to be shared according to the set guideline.
The Sharing Deposit is in safekeeping under a trust account managed by the Trustee – Ong and Manecksha, Advocates & Solicitors. This fund is used solely for medical crowd sharing purposes only.
This is the Sharing Deposit contributed by individual Carer. Example below is referring to 1,000 Carers with age group between 6 - 40 years old.
Total hospital bills incurred in a month for treatments assumed to be e.g: MYR10,000.
MYR10,000 to be spread among 1,000 Carers and we will deduct MYR10 from every Carer's Sharing Deposit to fund the medical bills.
Your Sharing Deposit balance after deduction. It's that simple!

You are eligible if you fulfill all four requirements stated below.
This Program is open to any individual Malaysian of any race and ethnicity who is residing in Malaysia. However, only medical expenses incurred in Malaysia and provided by or under the direction of a panel hospital are eligible for sharing under this Program.
This Program is available to healthy individuals aged between 15 days and up to 40 years old. Gathercare does gradually expand the age limit of this Program from time to time to include wider age groups, subject to the different ratio of Monthly Care Pledge that reflects their respective health risks due to age.
A person’s health status may affect his eligibility to join this Program. A person is required to disclose any pre-existing condition to Gathercare during the signing-up process. This is a crucial part that needs serious attention for any newcomer, to prevent frustrations of cases being rejected in the future.
Carers are required to make a list of declarations about their health condition and lifestyle, as well as fully understand the core principles of the Program, or face immediate disqualification. This is to ensure all Carers share the same spirit of connecting individuals who are passionate about improving the way the community lives by sharing each other’s burden and caring about each other’s well-being, particularly in the area of healthcare.
